Medan Hokkien does not have words for all the names of professions, so you can express them by saying what you do.

- caregiver for children = ko gina [kor1 gi1na4] (take care children)
- food deliver = sang ciak [sang4 ciak1] (deliver food)
- architect = uak to [uak4 tor2] (draw map)
- builder = khi chu [khi4 chu3] (build house)
- chef = cu ciak [cu4 ciak1] (cook food)
